“UNCHARTED” follows my journey as I pivot from a career in graphic design, and dive into the practice of studio art, painting and the world of becoming a fine artist.

Exploring my visual themes of Freedom. Air. Possibility. Unknown. Unbound., I am discovering my path as an emerging artist. Finding my way as I go, curiosity encourages me to experiment with mediums and materials, and embrace the wonder in my outcomes. Relying on my authenticity, I pull images from my life that support these explorations.

Outside the studio, I am a passionate racing sailor— Respecting the water + wind as wild cards, sailing explores the fine line between control and the ever-changing environment. Unpredictability. Guided by the feeling of endless possibility, I use my intuition to push the boundaries, explore and respond artistically. Unbound. Uncharted. Creative colorful discoveries unfold in images that I create.

I lived on a big old farm in my early years. I was surrounded by long views of open fields, orchards and mountains, juxtaposed with the small, secret spaces in the barn’s lofts, coops and sheds. A magical, dreamy combination that I capture in my paintings.

Like a phoenix rising from my previous creative path, my UNCHARTED journey has begun here in Charleston. The artifacts of my work are creating a roadmap to a destination yet unknown.
